In Lunghwa Universitity of Science and Technology, my favorite course is 跨文化認知.
The textbook we used is " Good Chats "Third Edition. It introduce idioms, turns of phrase. The most important is that I am interested in them very much. For example, to toss and turn means to be unable to sleep, spending the night moving around in bed trying to get comfortable. to hit the hay means to get to bed. to see eye-to -eye with means to agree with : to accept another's authority.
These idioms and phrase created my curiosity and interest to English a lot. They are fun and fascinating. One of my favorite topics is Family. In this chapter it talk about How does birth order affect a child? It says that Birth order can have strong effects on a child's development. The oldest child, who is often required to look after the younger ones, typically develops leadership abilities and a strong sense of responsibility. A middle child becomes accustomed to tagging along after the eldest, and , in learning to get along with him or her, develops a spirit of cooperation. The youngest child, gets used to being taken care of and treated as the baby of the family, sometimes retaining a certain immaturity even as an adult.
I love this course that is becase this book increased my interest in English.
