Natural Aromatic

Some think that and plants can protect people from suffering disease. Therefore, some people like carry vanilla and plants. Furthermore, people also think that some plants can repel evil spirits, for instance,the garlic is considered a tool to avoid vampire.

There is a conventional fragrant ball that is made of orange with Clove. Inserting the clove into the orange creates a wonderful and balmy flavor. The most important is that it become a natural anthelmitic and popular in England.

In fact, we can dry the plants with fragrant and put it in the room. The room will full of natural aroma. I t is not only economic and eco-friendly. The most significant is that it is good for our health.

One Important Decision in My Life ( I )

Is diploma important for us? In my opinion, yes, it is. I worked for a medium-sized electrical company as a sales assistant in 1998. This is my first full-time job. I learned experience from this company a lot. However, I know this job is not what I want, what I love. I always think so, “How I can get a better work?” And “How I can find a job I am Interested?”
On that time, I had a High School degree only. Therefore, I decided to get a college diploma because I believe that only have a higher degree and can make it. However, I have problems. First, I cannot go to school during the day because I need to work. Second, I am unable to enter the college through the entrance examination because I am not good at other subjects except English and Chinese. Third, I am old at that time.

One Important Decision in My Life ( II )

Luckily, during that time, there is a college called “Opening Learning", which is an education by using TV, Radio and can obtain college diploma. The most attractive reason is that it does not need “Entrance Examination". I determinedly go to “Open Business College Affiliated with National Taipei College of Business " and choose Applied Foreign English as my major. Actually, this education is good for people who are unable to study due to various factors and is eager to study further. The most important is that people can get the college degree and achieve their dream. I am the example. When I was in High School, I had the dream - go to university. So, I must finish it in my life. This school is my only chance to get it. That is the reason I determinedly made the decision.

It is tough for me to go school on weekends because my two kinds are too young to take care of themselves. Besides, I need to get up early to watch TV for study and then go to work after that. However, Owing to my familys’ support completely, I can get the diploma smoothly after three years. I appreciate all of my family, including my husband, my older brother and my sister in law. Always, I think that I am a luck guy. After I get the college degree, I find my favorite job and my pay is higher than before. The most important is that I can make a living by using my only ability -English.

Cobra

Cobra is also a poison snake. He always lift its neck up and looks terrible. They mainly distributed over the desert and the tropics region of Asia and Africa. The most conspicuous is its neck that can expand to threaten its foe. Cobra's venom is the severe neurotoxin. It is deadly when be bitten by Cobra. However, Cobra is a very important part in Ancient Egypt. A lot of portrait of head of Pharaoh has a decoration of Cobra.

Snake

All snake are meat eater. They smell thing with their tongue, not nose. While Their tongue can help with seeking thing for eating. They can open their mouth wide and swallow the animale which is larger than its body. They not chew the food with their teeth, but to eat it at one swallow. Most snakes are posison. They bite other animales by its sharp poison fang and inject the venom into the animales. The game must be died of poison.


Rattlesnake is the most poisoned snake in South America. They have clappers at the end of its tail. He always put his tonuge out and hiss. In particular, its tail will send out noise during scramble.

The Power of Power Yoga

About ten years ago, every day I feel tired and sleep during my working hours and after work and even if I sleep over ten hours a night. I thought if I am sick, but I know it is not. So I decided to do exercise to increase my physical strength.

One day I saw a TV program and it was introducing the advantages of power yoga. It is said that the power yoga can make you relaxed, relieve your stress, and increase your immunity. I am so surprised that power yoga has so many benefits. Magically, I feel energetic after I practice it, and I do not need coffee to refresh my mind.

I would like to share two my favorite postures with you. In power yoga, there are two tips. The first one is inhale with nose and inflate your belly. The second one is exhale with mouth and shrink your belly. Keep the two rules in mind and you can do it well. The first posture is breathing. This motion not only can solve the problem of your constipation but also can eliminate the fat around your belly. One of my classmate lose about 7 kilogram within 2 months.
The second posture is standing by one leg. This motion can train the muscle of your thigh. If you have strong thigh, you can walk long. If not, you will feel tired after a short distance walk.

Finally, what I want to say is we work from Monday to Friday and study on weekends, so we are under high pressure now. So we must try to keep a good condition, by doing so, we can get the university degree smoothly.

Aquatic Plants

Aquatic plants grow in the river, pound and lake. They usually are under the soil of the water. Their stems will stretch out of the surface of the water, the leaves and flower will expand as well. There are many types of aquatic plant. Some has wide leaves, some are long and narrow.

In Taiwan, one of famous aquatic plants named Victoria amazonica. It has huge leaf, like a round plate. The diameter of its leaf can up to two meter. Therefore, it is known as the king of the aquatic plants. Currently, there are three categories in Taiwan. They are Victoria amazonica, Victoria cruziana, and Victoria mattogrossensis.

Pumpkin Boat

This is a folk story of  Madagascar. One day, one pumpkin fall into the river. A crowd of animales jump onto the pumpkin. They make a  boat by gnawing off  half the pumpkin, then. After that, they sit in the pumpkin boat and play there. While the boat float downstream on the sea, one of the mice get hungry and secretly bite off a piece of the bottom of the  pumpkin.  So, the boat come out a hole and water penetrate through the hole and into the boat. Finally, the boat sink. These animales strive to swim toward the shore. After they reach to the shore, they run after the hateful mouse and try to hit it. The mouse is a fast runner, so they are failed to catch him. This mouse run into a small hole and hide himself.  

Tradition

Africa is famous for its traditional handcraft. They good at producing pretty mask, and using colorful material for making handcraft. Besides, there are a lot of excited festivities in Africa.

In African, masks are considered an important art. For hundreds of year, African use mud, woods, bronzes and golds for making fabulous makse. Each mask stand for the carven art of Africa. The type of mask

and totem are various. Masks usually used in particular ceremony.

One of famous festivals in Argungu, Africa is Fishing Festival. Negiria men will held the Fishing festival once a year. They use sun-dried calabash to catch jumbo perch. Furthermore, the calabash also is an important tool in the daily life in Africa. They use it to carry water or milk.

Venice of Africa

The city - Venice is very famous in Italy, while in Africa , there is a Venice as well. It is Gang Weiai, located in the west of Africa.

There are  nearly 30,000 residents in this village.  Villagers are friendly and enthusiasm. The house was built on the river by using stakes to support. In rainy season, these houses will not be flooded when the water rise sharply.

The main transportation here are boat and canoe. Children are used to live this kind of lifestyle. Gang Weiai is a village that make a living by fishing. The local people buy vegetables, fruits, flour and clothes and so on from the dealers who row across their house. This village now has became a tourist attraction.

Lifestyle V.S. Environment

With the problem of Global Warming getting worse and worse, I tried to change my lifestyle as simple as possible. Such as, change the consume habits - what I drive, what I buy, what I use. These small changes can reduce the emission of the carbon dioxide, and are good for our environment.

In our daily life, there are many simple things we can do to protect our environment. First, in the aspect of transportation, I try to ride bicycle for a short distance instead of riding scooter, and try not to drive car, but take the public transportation. For example, I always take train, bus or M.R.T. when I go to Taipei city. It is not only convenient but also can save time for seeking parking lot.

Second, I always try to use eco-friendly products. For example, I use fiber bag when I go to the market, and use less plastic bag. Besides, I also try to buy organic produce. Since there are too many chemicals in our modern life and they will pollute our environment. In addition, I try not to buy over-packed goods to reduce the garbage.

Third, I try to unplug when the electronic devices are not used. This way can save energy and electricity. The most important, it can save money. In sum, our environment is very closed to our lifestyle. I believe that only we change our lifestyle, we could have a good environment.

Africa

In some certain area of Africa, people use modern agricultural implements to cultivate their farmland. However, most of farmers still use simple tools. In the east of Africa, people plant peanuts, corns and millets, but in the warm and humid area, they plant bananas and  rice. Coffees, cocoa bean , coco and cotton are the most important aricultural produce are succeed in distributing over the world.

Ostrich is the popular animal in the south of Africa. People raise ostriches to get ostrich egg , feather and ostrich meat. Therefore, people are courteous to them, for instance, they build straw shed for jennies to lay eggs.

The ostrich has so tremendous body that people can sit in the back of the ostrich, like riding a horse. Sometimes the ostriches will kick forth and back rudely when they are in bad mood.

A Proud Fish

This is a folk story of Senegal. One big and proud fish who hates to live with small fishe in a small river. These small fishes also dislike the big, egotistic fish. Therefore, they suggested that the big fish swim to the ocean and live with the other big one. The big fish think that it is exactly a good idea and he should find a more specious place for himself.

Finally, he entered the ocean. Unluckly, he felt scared and shuddered while he saw a lot of big fishes in the ocean. Since these fishes are more larger than him over hundreds and thousands of times. He had no choice but to get back to his small river, and told these fishes that he will not be proud no longer.

There is one old saying - a big fish in a little pond get into the ocean, it will become a small one. It implys that we must be modest when we are under pride or success.

Meteors V.S. Crater

Meteor is a bright star which always fly into the night sky quickly. It might be the small planet or the gravel of comet. While the meteor get into the Earth's aerosphere, it will get burned and last about one or two seconds. That is the right time that you see the meteor with a shining tail in the night sky.

The crater was formed when the small planet hit the Earth. One of the famous tourist attractions - Arizona, is located in the southwest region of the United States, is a crater. It is said that it was formed when the crater fall into Arizona.

Here is the experiment on making artificial crater. First, pour flour into a washbasin. Second, drop a small plastic ball into the washbasin, and it will cause a hole. Third, take out the small ball and you will find the hole which was formed when the plastic ball fall from the high way. The hole is just the crater.

Travel

There are many reasons for travel, such as for leisure, for visiting friends or relatives and for business. Today, I would like to share my experience of exhibition to Hong Kong for business.

My ex-company always participates in trade fair 4 times a year on a regular basis. In my opinion, it is a tired matter, but it is a good way to improve my English in Speaking & Listening. One of the benefits from the travel is you can visit the country, shopping or window shopping after work. Now, I would like to introduce two must-eat food in Hong Kong.

1. Guilinggao : You will find it at this shop, named Hui Lau Shan. This is a famous shop, which sell cold drinks, ice cream, and ice with fruits. There are 50 branches in Hong Kong. It is said that it made of Chinese medicine and is tonic and nutritional.

2. 燉奶 : It made of fresh milk, albumin (egg white) and sugar. First, boil the ingredients for 30 minutes and then pour it into a small bowl and steam for 15 minutes. One bowl cost about HK$16. It is expensive, but you must try. You can find it at Causeway Bay and Yau Ma Tei.

Solar Energy

In my opinion, Solar Energy will be more widely used in the near future. Recently years, there are many products, which generate electricity by using Solar Panel, for instance solar flashlight, solar energy bicycle, solar energy charger and so on. The solar energy charger has been launched into the market already. It is convenient for people to charge for mobile phone, MP3 players, i-pod, and other small electrical equipment. The most important is that the small-scale panel is cheap, not expensive. That is the reason why I think the Solar Energy will be more widely used than other alternative energy sources. Furthermore, it would be popular in the near future.

Introduction of Myself

I grew up in the countryside. There are seven members in my family, my parents, two older brothers, one younger sister ,one younger brother and me. My parents make a living by farming. They are busy everyday. So, when I was seven years old, my father teach me how to cook rice by using wood/lumbers; and further, when I was 11 years old, my mother teach me how to cook dishes. After that I cook dinner for my family almost everyday. Therfore, my father is proud of me. He think that I am a good helper of my mom and he is love me very much.

Speaking of my career, to tell the truth, I did not find my favorite job until I am 30 years old. Since I get marry early and become a houswife for seven years. However, I enjoy the time of being a housewife because of my two lovely kids.
So, when I want to go for a work , I am aware that I did not have any skills because school I studied is Common High school, not Vocational High School. And I have a High School diploma only. So, I decided to study further, the only subject I am interested is English. So I choose Applied Foreign English at Open Business College Affiliated With National Taipei College of Business to get the College degree. After three years, I make it. And I am so happy. In the meantime, I finally know what I want to do and what job I love. That is my existing job- export business. Up to now, I have engaged in exporting business for almost 9 years . I always think that God is nice to me. At least, I can make a living by using my only ability -English.

What I want to share with you is interest is a key point for us to learn one thing. If you know what you want, what you love, just go for it. If not, keep going, one day, you will find it. Always some people find it early, but some do not. No matter it is early or late, when you find it, you could do a great job.

God of The Kitchen ( II )

Therefore, he goes to meet with his ex-wife again. His ex-wife ask him " where are the Zongzis?" He said " They were robbed ". At the sme time, her husband gets back. Zao Jun try to hide himself, he urgently hide himself inside the cooking stove . The man would like to take a shower and he said " I will boil the water myself". His wife said " No, you cannot do it, I will do it for you". However, her husband persist in boiling water by himself. He put the firewood into the cooking stove and fire the wood. Therefor, Zao Jun died in the cooking stove.

After Zao Jun pass away, his ex-wife worship toward the cooking stove everyday. Her husband ask her " Why do you worship the cooking stove everyday"? Surely, she could not tell the truth. She said so " We need to thank the cooking stove and pots. We can live in the world because of thess equipment can live in the world".

Afterward, everyone think that she is right. Every household worship the cooking stove and pots. The Jade Emperor rewards Zao Jun as the Kitchen God. Besides, he must present the yearly report to Jade Emperor on Dec. 24th of the Chinese calendar. This is the story of Zao Jun.

God of The Kitchen ( I )

In Chinese folktale, the Kitchen God, named Zao Jun. Before he become the Kitchen God. He is an idle guy. He does nothing everyday. There is one old saying " The devil makes work for idle hands".

Once he borrows from other people for gamble. He gambled away all his money, property, and even his wife. His wife, therefore, remarry a man who lives by chopping firewood.

Zao Jun has no money to buy things, so he goes to meet with his ex-wife. His ex-wife makes a couple of Zongzis and puts money into the Zongzis. Meanwhile, she tell him that these Zongzis are for you , remember, do not give them to others.

Afert leaving, he bump into the people who loan money to him. They said " pay back the money". He said that I do not have money. They said " What is it on your hands?" He answers " they are for eating". They said " That is fine" and rob the Zongzis and run away.

Formosan Black Bear

Formosan black bear, also known as the white-throated bear because there is a V-shaped white mark on the chest. They are strong and sturdy, with rough, thick paws, a short tail. They can stand up straight while they are seeking foods or getting threatened or attacked. They are omnivorous animal. They eat almost anything, such as dead snake, rotten meat . Tree-climbing is their specialty.

Formosan black bears are always solitary. Wintertime is their mating season. Also, it is the season for sleeping. The bear mother give birth after is pregnant with 8-9 months. The mother bear will nurse her cubs till they are one years old. When the bear cub is strong enough, they will leave the ven and live dependent.

Currently, they can be found at the Central Mountain Range of Taiwan only. The Formosan black bears were listed as endangered animals.

Suao Cold Springs

Suao Cold Springs is located in the side of the road of the Suao Cold Springs Road, in Yilan County, Taiwan. There are only two Cold Springs in the world, and the Suao Cold Springs is one of the largest. The admission for residents of Yilan County is free. It is a welfare for people who live in Yilan.

The Suao Cold Springs is a kind of carbonic acid spring with rich volume of carbon dioxide (CO2)and iron. The water tempreture is about 20 degrees centigrade, and the water is pure and clear. It is drinkable and bathable. You will not feel cold when you get into the pond at first. Within two minutes, you will fee heat all over the body and will feel free and cozy. The best one is it is therapeutically.

Diamond

Diamond is unbreakable. It is renowned for its hardness. It is composed of 100% of carbon element. Owing to diamonds are formed at high temperature and high pressure conditions, its array is very neat. It is the highest hardness of mineral and is high vlaue of diamond. Diamond is the durable gemstone, due to its large hardness and its great ability to refraction light . It colorless and transparent which can be decoration and engraving. Usually, one 7 grams of diamond was formed wiht 100 tons of blue mineral after cutting and grinding.

The main four important place of origin are Africa, India, Russia and South America, in whihc South Africa supply the most of gemstons. Carat is a unit of mass for gemstones. One carat equal to 0.2 gram. Most diamonds come form the ancient pluton and placer deposit of the bend of rivers. The largest diamond in the world weigh 530carat which was mounted on the imperial cane in UK. The tourists can see the tremendous diamond from The Tower of London.

The Twin Towers of The World Trade Center

The World Trade Center was located in Lower Manhattan in New York City. It had seven buildings. The World Trade Center Towers were the tallest buildings from 1972 to 1973. The most remarkable were the North Tower and South Tower. The North Tower stood 1368 feet tall, was completed in December 1972. The South Tower was 1362 feet high, finished in July 1973. They are a symbol of American Trading.

Unluckily, it was destroy by terrorism - Osama Bin Laden in September 11, 2001. It is said that it was a suicide attack and caused both buildings collapsed, serious damage and death. The death toll of the attacks was 2,996, including the 19 hijackers. This is the event of September 11. It will never be forgotten by the people of New York or American. However, the site is currently being rebuilt with six new skyscrapers and a memorial.

Maple Tree

There is a particularly maple is called Sugar Maple. When autumn comes, the leaves will change colour from green into red.

Maple tree is a species of hardwood. The color of the leaves will change into Golden. It is very spectacular. Canada has became a prominent tourist attraction of leaf-watching because of the particular landscape .

Maple is the major source of sap for making syrup. There are two ways for collecting the sap from the maple tree. One is to drill the hole using a drill and hang a bucket or container on the hook of the spout. Another is using plastic tubing to collect the sap and directly transmit the tree sap to the sugar house. Then, proceed with filtering, boiling at the evaporator. Finally, the maple syrup is produced.

Sashimi & Sushi

Sashimi and Sushi are the most representative dish in Japaness food. They are also the favorite food for japaness.

Sushi is a kind of Japaness snack. It consists of cooked vinegared rice that is topped with other ingredients, for instance fish , seafood, thin omelette , preserved radish and so on.

Sashimi consists of fresh raw seafood, such as salmon , Tuna,Octopus, and Sea Urchin etc., which are usually sliced into thin pieces and served with soy sauce with wasabi.

Amber Gemstone

Amber is the resin of Conifer. When the tree resin dropped into the ground and pass a long period , they fossilized. This is the Amber. Its color is yellow with transparent. The one contains insects can be a decoration, such as ant, fly, spider and mosquito etc.

The most superior amber is extracted from the Baltic Sea along the coast. The handicraftsmen in Republic of Lithuania are famous for creating amber gem. European believe that amber possess magical power which can repel evils. 

Amber is composed of 79% of carbide, 10% of oxygen and 11% of hydrogen . It`s hardness on Mohs scale is between 2.0 and 2.5. It will melt and spread the flavor of rosin when heat the amber get up to 150 degrees centigrade.

Koala

Koala is an unique animal in Australia. They also known as Tree-kangaroo. There are three different categoris.

The baby Koala will follow their mother at the first year after giving birth. No matter where their mother goes, the baby Koala will go with their mother. Similarly, the mother Koala will carry the baby Koala

on the back and go around.

The shape of the Koala is round with fat. Their motion is slowly. Koala need over 15 hours of sleep a day. They are very critical about food, so they eat the leaves of eucalyptus. The eucalyptus is composed of 50% of water, 18% of fiber and 13% of poison. The leaves of the eucalyptus could make human died. However, Koala has a long long intestine and they can detoxify through their digestive system. Therefore, they will not get toxication.

Global Warming ( 二 )

Also, we can change our shopping habits to reduce carbon footprint. First of all, buy local fruit and vegetables. If possible, try to grow simple leafy vegetables yourself, such as, in the front of your balcony. Second, reduce your consumption of meat. Third, buy organic produce. Finally, don't buy over packaged products.

The most important is that it is our  responsibilities to protect our earth. So, we can combine with the community of power to slow down global warming. The more people are aware of the issues of global warming the more we can reduce the emissions of carbon dioxide.

Global Warming ( 一 ）

In Taiwan, the most impression on global warming is that it is getting more and more hot. However, the summer is coming a little bit late. As you know, it is going to July, but the weather does not like summer season. For other countries, for instance, there are 35, 000 people died due to high tempreture in Europe. Moreover, there are more hurricanes, floods, droughts and wildfire will happen in the future. The worst is the polar ice caps melting, so the polar bears need to swim long distances to reach ics floes. If not, they will be drowned.

What can we do to reduce the emission of carbon dioxide to stop global  warming. Actually, in our daily life, there are many simple ways to reduce the carbon footprint. First, for short distances, we can try to walk or bicycle, not drive. For long distances, use public transportation, such as trains, buses and M.R.T. If you had no choice but to drive car, you can try to buy a highbird car for replacement. Since it still can reduce the emission of carbon dioxide and lower air pollution.

Neat People Vs. Messy People

What is the difference between neat people and messy people? Neat people are often trying to keep their desk neat and clean, but messy people’s desk is terrible mess. Always, there has a pile of stuff on the
desk. According to reports, why the messy people do not want to clean up. The key reason is that they have more important things need to do. In their opinion, mess is not an important matter. In contrast, neat person
cannot stand any mess. In daily life, neat person always organize things well and locates everything in the right place. For instance, hang the hats on the hanger; place the books on the shelf by its category. For messy
person, they are always out of order. Such as, garbage is out of the trash can, clothes are everywhere and so on. To sum up, it does not mean that neat people are smart and messy people are stupid.

English Reading Class

In my opinion, comprehension is a key point of reading. There are a lot of reading strategies, for instance, Activate prior knowledge, Summarize the gist, Using Visualization and so on. I think using visualization is very important for me. When you can draw pictures for each paragraph , you can realize the whole text. Besides, you can tell others what the story you are reading is. Surely, reading strategy depend on each person favor. so, chose a suitable reading strategy is very important.

The most efficiency method in my English reading class is cooperative learing. In traditional English reading calss, always teacher translate the text , students copy the translation. We do not need to use our brain and mind, whereas cooperative learing is active. Each group, each crew can discuss and share their own ideas and translate the text. It not only can understand other people's concept but also can translate the text in better smooth words.

Forthmore, this method can push yourself to forward and strive to learn due to peers stress. This is the great harvest I learned from English reading class. That is the reason why I love our English reading class. If you can combine the ideal reading strategy with the cooperative learing, I think your English will improve a lot.

Preserve White Radish in Salt

Preserve white radish in salt is a household and must-have dish in countryside. Making it is easy and just needs simple ingridients. First, wash the white radish and then cut it into two pieces. Second, put them into a glass or plastice container and stay for one night. Next morning, pour out the salty water, then put the ingredients into the container in order, for example, the first layer is white radish , the second is suger, the third is salt black bean.  Finally, close the lid and stay for a long period. You can enjoy it when they are getting soft. It is a delicious side dish for congee. In additian, it can be mixed with grinding meat and became a fabulous main dish which stimulates your appetite

What Is Reading?

Simply, reading is to increase your own knowledge. Reading is comprehension of words and signs. The key point is to bring up the interest of reading. It is a easy matter. What you want to do is to keep curious and ask why often. As curious will drive you to find the answer, and you will try to read and find it from books. It is hard to express how happy you feel when you find it.

Reading can create your personal logical thinking except for getting knowledge. Besides, it will work on your studying and increase your own professional knowledge. Moreover, it not only can create your imagination but also can guide you to judge wrong and right. Many experts believe that people can experience ambitions and beliefs over the characters in the book by reading biographies and historical books.

There are many ways of reading and strategies. The most important is to find the reading method which suit yourself. Finally, you should enjoy it.

Reading Strategy : Visualization

Reading is not just pronouncing words—it requires understanding. Most experienced readers use a variety of strategies to understand text. The topic of our reading strategy is visualization.

What is visualization ? Comprehension is a very important goal of reading. Visualization is a means of learning comprehension. Students need to learn to visualize the text as they read. By doing so, they will paint a picture in their head of what is going on in the text. This is important because it will help students to remember the story and comprehend the book.

The Visualize Strategy involves creating a vivid image in your mind based on what you read. Visualizations can include sights, sounds, smells, tastes, colors and feelings—anything that makes the scene more real. It is a very important thing that we do in our brains. When we hear things, we have this great ability to see things in my head. For example, when I say “Steve is riding a bicycle. He sees a kite flying high in the sky. " In your head, you might visualize a boy, a bicycle , and a kite. Visualizing is fun, because we get to use our imagination.

If students are able to visualize what they are reading, they will comprehend more information. Moreover, visualizing works differently for each person. Be creative in how you construct your mental images. You can even invent details that seem to fit with the scene the writer has created. Use all of your senses to bring the scene to life in your own way.

The Emergency Room of a Hospital

In the front of gate of the emergency room of a hospital, there is an ambulance with flashing warning lights that carry patients with urgnt and serious condiction. The patients was sent to the emergency room in a hurry.

When you get into the hospital, you will smell something irritative and then you will find out that the doctors are carefully examining  patients. The most common condition that happened in the emergency room is the cry of kid who is taking injection. It is a terrible scene. Sometimes, you will see a bloody scene that usually cause by car accident. The men always come with suffering face . However, they will go home after X-ray checking, taking injection or the nurse bandaging for their wounds. Nevertheless, if it is a serious circumstance, they must stay at the hospital and undergo a physical or even opearation.

 I do not like the emergency room because it is always full of sad, bad, dreadful feel.

Can You Believe It?

The best way to improve your reading skills is to read short stories from real life. I love this book very much. Each story cover with about 120 words only. You can read it and can realize the whole story quickly. In addition, each story features idioms, phrasal verbs and fixed expressions which can help you to step forward for your reading skills.

Here I would like to share one of interesting stories in this book. The topic is Please Get Rid of That Smell! It is winter, Barbara Pridgen, 43, is driving her car. When she turns on the heater, there's a terrible smell in her car. It gets worse and worse. She can't standit! She takes the car to the repair ship. "What's the matter with my car?" she asks. " Can you get rid of this smell?" The mechanic takes a look at the engine. He examines the heating system. Then Barbara screams. She loses it. The mechanic pulls out a big, fat, dead python!

This is the short story, but I can learn a lot of idioms and expressions from it.

The World Around Us

This book is ideally suitable for students whose would like to develope reading skills. Each topic goes with vivid illustrations to capture reader's interest from the very first.

It introduces common, true topics to arrest reader's interest, for example, Spiders, Fossils, Helicopters, Deserts etc. Besides, you can learn more daily common sence, knowledge from the book. Such as, spider is not really an insect because it has four pairs of legs. The web is sticky, so if a fly or another insect touches the web, it cannot get away. 

Futhermore, each topic comes with self-tests that can help readers to practice and test themselves. For example, What is another name for a breathing tube? The web is sticky but the spider can walk on it because it has on its feet. How many groups of people can receive group O blood?

Read one short story everyday and you can reinforce your English skills a lot.

A Good Nurse Has Three Qualities

What is a good nurse? A good nurse should has three basic qualities. The first is patience. Only with patience, they can take good care of the young kids, the elderly and even other patients. For instance, the young kids are always hard to deal with. Therefore, the nurse need patience to appease them for injection or taking medicine. The second is carefulness. A careful nurse will lower mistakes. It is very important to nurses not to give wrong medicine, wrong injection and so on. Otherwise, they will be sued seriould and lost their job. The third is braveness. Sometimes, nurses need to draw the patients' blood fot physical examination. If they are not brave, they cannot make it. Some girls will pass out wheh they see blood or a bloody scene.
To sum up, only the superior nurses we can get good health.

The History of a Married Couple

One of my colleagues got marriage five years ago. His ex-boss introduces her wife to him. Her wife was burn in Hunan, China. They work for the same company, but in different country. He is in Taiwan, his wife is in China. They meet once a month before they get marriage. My friend takes plane to China and dates with his wife. I was surprised to learn about the way of their date.

Finally, about one year later, they decided to walk down the aisle. Both of them are Christian, so their wedding is very special that I have ever seen. His old sister and their Christian choral edit a poem for his wedding. It is a peaceful and elegant scene at that moment. Besides, one famous soprano who is his father's friend, she contribute two songs during their wedding. It is fabulous.

Now, they have a lovely daughter. She is four years old now. They are happiness.

How to Catch Fish

Catching fish is easy. Here are some skills and steps to guide you to catch fish.

The first step is to find the right place. Some fish can only be found in certain water. The next step is to prepare suitable bait. Some fish like worm, some like bread. After that, be careful to bait the hook. This is a very important step. Remember to hide the hook with the bait because fish is smart. If the hook is too obvious, they still will go away after eating the delicious food. Then throw the fishing line into the water, make sure the area around you is clear. Sometimes, the fishing line will be hooked on the tree during throwing it into the water. Now, you need patience to wait, keep quiet and focus on the float. When you see the float sink into the water, it means that you catch the fish. It is the time to draw back your pole and you will see a slippery fish. Finally, be careful to squeeze the sides of the fish head and open its mouth and unhook the fish. See, you catch a fish now.

Myanmar

The most impressive country I have visited is Myanmar. This is a Buddhist country, 90% of people is Buddhist. Besides, there are more than 40,000 temples there. Wherever you go, you will see them. So, my first impression on this country is " Temple here, temple there, temple everywhere. Myanmar is famous for their grand temples. So, most vistors come here for religion. There are not too many jobs for locals. So, most of the locals make a living by selling souvenir, produce, handicrafts and delicious food. Therefore, tourism had become one of the key sources of their income.

One of the famous spots I visited is Kyaiktiyo. It is a extraordinary spot in Myanmar. There is a huge stone, named Holy Rock. It is located on the top of the hill. It looks like it will fall from the precipice, but it does not. In addition, another spot that I like is the particular temple. It stands on the middle of the river. You can get there by taking boat only. It is dangerous when you get into the boat. Since the river flows rapid and the water in the river is muddy. It is terrible. However, it is said that no accident happen here, such as "boat turnovered".

In fact, Myanmar have a lot of tourist attraction. However, the development of their tourism is slwoly because the govermnet has a closed mind. So, I do not think tourism have impact on the environment. Moreover, there are not many jobs for locals. I think what they need is to get job and to make money. Tourism can help them to get better life quality.

Five years later, Jonathan is preparing for his wedding.  Before a couple days of his wedding, he found out that Sara is just his true love.  During the day of preview for their wedding, his fiancee present Jonathan a copy of  "Love in the Time of Cholera". It is the book with Sara's name and address. Immediately, he goes  to find Sara.

On the same time, Sara also asks her best friend to New York and hopes can  meet him again. Nevertheless, there is nothing happened. Sara is frustrated and decides to go home. On the airplane, the stewardess asked if she wants a headset. To her surprise, she finds her wallet got exchanged with her best friend's. She pays the flight attendant for the headsetand and see the bill with Jonathan's name. She right away gets off the plane to continue to seek Jonathan

Unconsciously, Jonathan walk around the park which is the place he date with Sara at  the first time. He sees Sara's jacket in the park. In the same time, Sara arrives in the park, she sees Jonathan there. They meet again. This is the fate she believes.

The fact that they attract each other. So, Jonathan invites Sara to the park, it is exactly a  rink and they spend a romantic Christmas Eve there.

There, Jonathan ask  " what is your unforgettable moment in New York "? Sara said "The moment stay with you". Duing the time to say good-bye, Jonathan suggests an exchange of phone numbers. The fact that they attract each other.

However, Sara said " Fate will control our future". So, Sara asks Jonathan to write his name and phone number on a bill and she writes her name and phone number on the inside cover of a secondhand book " Love in the Time of Cholera". They each take a single glove they purchase.

Serendipity is a romantic comedy.

On the Christmas Eve in New York City, the leading man - Jonathan meet the leading lady-Sara in a department at the same time when they both try to buy a pair of gloves for their girlfriend and boyfriend.

Coincidentally, that is the last one. Therfore, Jonathan give it to Sara. Meanwhile, they eat ice cream together at Serendipity 3 Restaurant. It is Sara's favorite restaurant.

Whale Rider ( 五 )

The largest whale belongs to the legendary Paikea. According to Māori tradition, Paikea is an ancestor of their tribe.

Nevertheless, when her grandfather walks away, she climbs onto the back of the largest whale and persuades it to back to the ocean. Strangely, the whale leads the entire whales back into the sea. Meantime, Pai's grandmother find out that Pai is missing. All villages started to seek for Pai, but they did not find her. They assumed that Pai died and cried. During the time, Pai's grandmother forwards Pai's grandfather the whale tooth which Pai had recovered early.

In the middle of the night, they got a phone call from the hospital that Pai is found and now is in the hospital. After that, Pai's grandfather declares that she is the leader of the village. Finally, Pai's father come back to his village and lives with his family happily.

Pai's grandfather is still without talking. Pai's school hold an activity for father and mother to attend. Pai attempts to cheer him up and invites her grandfather to be her guest. Besides, she get a chance to perform speech. The content of the speech is about her grandfather and the customs of the village.

However, her grandfather was late, when he was on the way to the school to attend the activity. He notices that there are numerous whales are in the sand beach near Pai's home. The whole villages attempt to drag them back into the ocean, but they are failed.

Pai's grandfather assumed that this is a sign of his failure and despairs further. He cautioned Pai doed not touch the largest whale because "she has done a lot of things that she should not do " .

Who can be the cheiftain of the village ? The way to tell who can be the chieftain of the village is the one who can complete this mission that find out the rei puta ( a neck ornament which made from whale tooth) from the ocean.

One day, Pai's grandfather, Pai's uncle and the boys are shipping for the ocean near their village. Pai's grandfather threw the rei pute into the ocean and the boys jup into the ocean to find it. However, none of the boys get it. Pai' grandfather is very dispointed.

After that, Pai's grandfather keep without eat and talking for a couple of days. When Pai learned that his grandfather is sad because of none of the boys find out the rei puta. Therefore, she ask her uncle bring her to the ocean. Strangely, she jump into the ocean and find it soon.
